Hari Raya 01 This is a photo taken at the Malay Village in Singapore. In fact, this is my first time visiting the place. This place of interest is like a mini Malay village. Just look at the architectures of the houses! They are made of wood and are very unique in designs. Now you can hardly find these types of houses in Singapore. Interestingly, this village sells a lot of homemade handicrafts that are rarely found. That makes the whole place rather special. Since the time when I went, it was close to Hari Raya, the area near the Malay Village is quite crowded (For those who do not know where this is located in Singapore, it's near to Paya Lebar MRT. It is also very near to Geylang Serai - an area allocated to the Malays during colonisation times.)
There are also a lot of "pasar malam" (night market in Malay) in Geylang Serai area. During the weeks before Hari Raya (when the Muslims are having "puasa" - fasting), the night markets there will be so crowded that people are already walking on one lane of the road.) If you like to eat supper, I think this will be a great place to go to during those festive seasons. Because the area will be filled with several food stalls. Besides, there will be other stalls selling all sorts of stuffs including bags, clothes.
